I started Lettuce Press in 2008 after falling in love with printing in an Intro to Letterpress class in Seattle. The old greasy machines, the cases and cases of tiny type, the smell of the ink...and I could go on, and on, but everything about being in a print shop felt really good to me.
At Lettuce Press, 1 believe receiving a lovely piece of stationery to treasure and revisit fulfills a need for tactile and meaningful connections.
I love and keep most of the cards I have received over the years. I tuck them in bookshelves so that when I pull out a book later on, i might get that same flash of delight I felt when I initially received it.
Every piece is letterpress printed with love, by hand. Letterpress is a printing technique based on the 1439 Gutenberg process where movable type is set, locked up, inked, and then pressed against a piece of paper.
Each item in this collection is meant to help you express your sentiments, whether they be sweet, a tad salty, or somewhere in between.
